The High on Ice Winter Festival is an annual celebration held in Fort St. John over the Family Day long weekend. The festival features a variety of winter-themed events including professional ice carving and ice slides in Centennial Park.
2020 High on Ice Winter Festival Theme: BC Winter Games
Sculpters will carve large pieces to represent the different sports played during the games. The BC Winter Games take place in Fort St. John the week after the festival.

Dress WARM! Layers, toques, gloves, winter coats, and mittens are all encouraged
Stay out of Centennial Park during site prep – there are tools and heavy machinery at work
Read the details (we have lots of event details on this page – study up and be prepared!)
Carry Cash - some of these events have a cost associated with them
Supervise your children closely – This is a busy event, please ensure your family is safe while enjoying our many activities (specifically on the ice slides)
Be respectful when looking at the sculptures – please do not go over any stanchions or barricades to touch the ice

Head down any time after 4pm for a variety of activities including the Single Block carving competition where professional carvers only have 2 hours to create a masterpiece right before your eyes!
