North Peace Ride for the Disabled - FSJ

The North Peace Ride for the Disabled provides riding programs for adults and children with disabilities. General Information The North Peace Ride for the Disabled operates out of the Light Horse Arena on Wednesdays between 5 and 7pm. Riders enjoy 30 minutes of guided riding to challenge their gross-motor and sensory systems. STORY The North Peace Ride for the Disabled provides horseback riding for persons with a wide range of disabilities. We combine traditional instruction in horsemanship skills with concepts of physical therapy to improve the strength, balance and self-esteem of physically and developmentally delayed children and adults. To an individual with a disability, horseback riding takes them into a new, unexplored world which provides a sense of independence and freedom that defies their disability. Horseback riding challenges our riders in a way that they have seldom been challenged before - and they love every minute of it!
